Recently, Hawking make a statement that God has nothing to do with the creation of the universe. He wrote that in his new book titled “The Grand Design” which he co-wrote it with Leonard Mlodinow, a physicist.
Hawking wrote, “Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist,”
His new idea about the Godless-intervention universe is a bit contradictory with his previous book, A Brief History, which indicated that God did do something. “If we discover a complete theory, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason — for then we should know the mind of God.”
